Laboratory Technician
Pay Rate $22/hr pay
The shift schedule is below
Week 1 M, Tu, W, Th 6:30 am 6:30 pm
Week 2 F, Sa, Su, M 6:30 pm 6:30 am
Week 3 F, Sa, Su 6:30 am 6:30 pm
Week 4 Tu, W, Th 6:30 pm 6:30 am
Duration 1 year+ assignment
Location Southport, NC
Prepare process and finished product samples; conduct analytical testing using instrumental and wet chemistry procedures, and record results using computerized data systems.
Conduct daily process monitoring tests throughout the plant as assigned.
Retain samples of tested product to verify test results, if necessary.
Document results of all testing procedures and promptly communicate necessary adjustments to operations.
Enter and report data using a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
Understand various production processes required for product manufacturing and provide recommendations to operators to maintain product quality.
Perform light maintenance and calibration on all laboratory equipment.
Maintain ongoing records of testing procedure results and input such data into the computer daily.
Maintain a clean and organized working area, washing equipment as required and storing it properly.
Foster effective working relationships with colleagues.
Perform duties in a safe manner, utilizing all approved safety equipment and completing all safety certification requirements.
Adhere to FDA, GMP, BATF, EPA, OSHA, and employer standards and guidelines.
Education/Training Preferred:
2 or more years of a science degree preferred
Experience Preferred:
Good attendance history
Excellent safety record and awareness
Sufficient computer skills to operate lab instrument programs
Familiarity with commercial software applications (Excel, Word)
Experience with lab documentation
Experience operating standard lab equipment (e.g., pH meter, balances, spectrophotometer)
Sufficient math skills to perform lab testing calculations
Previous plant experience
