Primary Function: This position is a federal earmark grant funded position through 05/31/2025.
Responsibilities: (1) Maintaining and implementing software (operating systems, applications, simulator software) (2) Assisting with setup and breakdown of simulation equipment (3) Educating users on equipment usage (4) Corresponding with equipment manufacturer for maintenance needs. Serve as liaison with equipment manufacturer and Information Technology staff for maintenance needs. (5) Collaborating with faculty and information technology. Assist with development and maintenance of case scenarios, setup guidance, utilization tracking, and center management documentation. (6) Maintaining and anticipating equipment updates. Coordinating integration of equipment updates with manufacturer. (7) Providing support for cloud recording and review of simulation activities. (8) Traveling between campuses with simulation equipment (Bethlehem and Monroe). Arranging safe transport of equipment between campuses. (9) Assisting with technology and simulation best-practice training for faculty and staff, including safe simulation practices (10) Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
Organizational Relationships: Position reports to the Director, Nursing Programs
Performance Standards: Performance in this position is considered to be satisfactory when: (1) mutually agreed upon objectives have been obtained within a specified time frame, (2) responsibilities of the position have been carried out at a level consistent with performance objectives, (3) effective and cooperative relationships exist with the other members of the, information technology services staff, as well as other members of the administrative team, faculty and other members of the College community.
Qualifications: (1) Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or Information Technology from a regionally accredited institution required; (2) Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: (a) Prepared to be trained with program simulation manufacturer, technologies, and applications, computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to simulator functions (b) Knowledgeable of audiovisual equipment and software for recording, duplication, mixing, and editing (c) Proficient with Microsoft Software application including but not limited to: MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (d) Able to articulate technical information effectively to non-technical persons (e) Able to assess, troubleshoot, and fix simulation equipment in a timely manner (f) Able to work under pressure related to deadlines and parameters set forth by the needs of the simulator users (g) Able to work with individuals internally and externally from multiple disciplines within the School of Health Science & Education (h) Capable of remaining flexible and adaptable in a dynamic environment (i) Able to meet the needs of occasional heavy lifting of equipment and management/utilization of advanced medical equipment (3) Experience: Previous experience with simulation equipment application and management.
