Schrodinger, a technology leader specializing in software solutions for life science research and development, is seeking a Facilities & Operations, Laboratory Assistant for an immediate permanent position reporting to the Facilities Manager, who is based in NYC. This position requires in-office attendance, Monday through Friday, 9AM-5PM.
Work Locations: Framingham, Massachusetts.
Responsibilities will include:
- Organizing, stocking and maintaining of the lab and office storage areas, including receiving, tracking and unpacking deliveries
- Helping to develop, update, and coordinate lab supply inventory systems and processes
- Light ongoing organization and tidying of lab to maintain optimal working environment
- Packaging and preparing domestic and international paperwork shipments for FedEx, DHL, and World Courier, as well as local couriers
- Assisting lab manager with routine maintenance and documentation
- Interacting with, developing, and maintaining positive vendor relationships relating to laboratory goods and services
- Collaborating with existing Senior Office and Lab Management team members to brainstorm events, effective department procedures, and new ideas related to office and laboratory life
- Occasional assistance with light office-related tasks as needed including assistance in moving of furniture, setting up/cleaning up special events; Coverage of critical office-related tasks in the absence of office management staff, including managing meals and coffee service.
- Monthly expense report management
The successful candidate will:
- Anticipate the needs of the laboratory, thinking one step ahead.
- Pride themselves on their punctuality
- Be extremely detail-oriented and highly organized; having a knack for using limited space well while keeping areas safely arranged.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ask questions, practice good judgment, and protect any and all sensitive and confidential material and matters.
- Be proficient in using the Google Suite, including Gmail, Gcal, Sheets and Docs. Additional computer programs are a plus.
- Have a great sense of humor, flexible personality, "can-do" attitude and ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
Qualification Requirements:
- Prior experience in scientific laboratories with an interest in or passion for natural sciences
- Ability to lift and move at least 50 pounds, including desks and boxes.
- Ability to assemble and move furniture and lab equipment
