Position Summary
Under the direction of the Mechanical Division Manager and Superintendents, the Scheduler is responsible for taking all Mechanical Division Field Labor, Superintendent and Project Manager phone calls, emails and text messages, scheduling and dispatching the appropriate Mechanical Division Field Personnel to various jobsites, and then providing communication and feedback to all parties to ensure all parties are informed.
Qualifications
- Education: The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or GED.
- Years of Relevant Work Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience managing or directing work groups in a construction environment, or equivalent.
- Certificates/Licenses: Valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record.
- Physical Job Requirements: Required to sit, stand and move throughout Company facilities. Must be able to perform job responsibilities in an industrial, construction site and general outdoor environment around heavy machinery and equipment.

- Technical Skills: This position requires proficiency in commonly used construction terms, tools, concepts and practices; proficiency in industry safety practices, procedures and equipment; and proficiency with general office and labor management software (MS Excel and preferably Spectrum). Please note that this position will be championed to pursue assisting to find software programs, or applications that can be considered for use to enhance our scheduling and man-load tracking capabilities.

Key Activities
- Labor Scheduling. Assign labor to jobs in accordance with Superintendent, Project Manager and Field Labor requests. Notify Superintendents and Project Managers of job assignments that vary from expectations. Maintain the maximum level of labor continuity possible to limit the problems associated with “relearning” and miscommunications.
- Project Monitoring. Clearly communicate job expectations for quality, safety and timeliness to the workforce. Work with Superintendents, Project Managers and Field Labor to identify the labor needed to complete jobs. Participate in production/turnover/job coordination meetings as requested.
- Coordinate activities among Total Mechanical divisions on multi-division projects, typically smaller and more apparent in nature. Assume lead role when assigned.
- Track Workforce Skills. Understand and track the labor competencies that exist in our workforce to ensure the best possible matching of job needs to available skill sets. Ensure that competencies/certifications are properly maintained.
- Participate in the development and implementation of Company’s best practices.
- Participate in After Action Reviews (AAR’s) as requested.
