AM Communications is seeking an experienced Underground Construction Labor Hand. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years’ experience in Underground utility work. You will be responsible for potholing, setting vaults and peds, restoration, fiber pulling and general site maintenance. Some of the core responsibilities include maintaining a safe clean site, ensuring all tasks are completed as directed and ensuring a safe working environment. As a Construction Labor Hand, you will be expected to uphold the company's principles including integrity, quality, teamwork, and customer experience always.
This position is responsible for the following tasks:
- Test pitting for the bore crew.
- Setting vaults and PEDS as directed.
- Site restoration as crew completes tasks.
- Assist the crew as directed by Foreman.
- Pulling fiber and cable as directed.
- Ensure job site safety compliance.
- Communicate daily any issues or obstacles our team may face in the field.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Requirements:
- Working knowledge of all aspects of underground construction.
- Must be willing to work in all weather conditions.
- Must be willing to travel.
- Willing to shovel, jack hammer and dig as instructed.
- Ability to operate a mini and other equipment a plus.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, DOT Medical card, and meet AM Communications MVR qualifications. (CDL a plus)
- Ability to pass a nationwide background check and drug screen.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years cable or related industry experience preferred will train the right candidate.
- Previous leadership experience in cable or related industry preferred.
- SCTE or NCTI Membership and/or Certificate are preferred.
- OSHA 30 confined space preferred.
