Labor Coordinator - HR Admin - Huxley, IA 

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

As a Labor Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Human Resources (HR) and operational needs of the Huxley,IA  Crop Science R&D site. Key work will include the administrative support of hiring, onboarding, training and ongoing timekeeping & payroll support for Bayer's seasonal workforce.  You will have the opportunity to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders and will be responsible for partnering with employees at various levels of the organization to drive strategic and operational effectiveness. In addition, you will assist in the distribution of labor across teams supported by the technician and temporary labor pool in Iowa including Breeding, Parent Seed, Commercial, Technology Development, and other internal Bayer teams requiring temporary labor.

 

This is a dayshift, overtime-eligible salaried role, onsite at our Huxley, IA location.

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Labor coordinator , are to:

 

  • Assist with the planning and paperwork associated with recruitment of seasonal workforce;
  • Provide guidance in managing Employee relations and; timekeeping, scheduling, and payroll systems;
  • Involved in assisting HR Business Partners and HR operations in gathering data for analyses of payroll and timekeeping, and for seasonal employment coordination;
  • Lead training of field crew in time-clocking systems, safety and other Bayer Policies;
  • Facilitate meetings between organizations identifying their labor needs and how to equitably share labor across the site;
  • Assists with New Hire Orientation;
  • Participates and assists in site-wide project;.
  • Additional special projects support to HR and labor coordination, employees and managers as needed;
  • Independently prioritize key tasks and responsibilities, considering seasonality of business;
  • Interfaces with other team members to share and coordinate workload and cross train to ensure business continuity;
  • Processes expense reports and payment of invoices including creation of purchase orders, goods receipts and other related bookkeeping activities;
  • Own and identify communication needs to appropriate levels of organization, including peers, leadership and internal/external stakeholders to drive strategic and operational efficiencies across operations;
  • Identify cost savings programs through data capturing and reporting to drive savings;
  • Coordinates activities across departments and follows up to ensure that requests are carried out;
  • Assembles and analyzes information, prepare reports.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED;
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal);
  • Organization and prioritization skills and attention to detail;
  • Ability to rapidly connect and analyze data;
  • Ability to communicate complex analytical insights in a precise and actional manner;
  • Must have availability to meet overtime demands, including occasional work on weekends and holidays.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous Administrative Assistant work experience;
  • Previous Human Resource Operations experience.
