Summary:
The Lab Technician assists lab teams in obtaining a comprehensive medical history of patients, reconciling medications, and appropriately documenting the electronic medical record. This position requires competency and knowledge of general allergy practice, procedures, and medications, and assists with allergy testing and allergy serum mixing. This role operates in a team-based environment with a shared goal of providing effective lab results.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Mix allergy serums
- Verify insurances, prepare billing slip
- Create and document allergy schedules, labels, and bottles.
- Communicate in an effective and timely manner with manager and other staff needs for clinical supply and missing documents.
- Filling skin testing trays and ID trays
- Ability to appropriately document and use EMR and HPAC.
- Document refrigerator settings and temperatures
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Some College/Associate Degree preferred
- Medical Assistant experience
- Allergy Experience a plus
Physical Demands:
- The employee must be able to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
- Put away supplies.
