Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow established quality control procedure.
  • Test, document and record all quality control values / data in lab areas as appropriate.
  • Formulate polymer mix as per recipe and guideline.
  • Develop and understand working knowledge of using formulations to create various rubber compounds using a variety of wet & dry rubber chemicals.
  • Keep the lab, lab mixing machines and mixing areas clean safe and orderly.
  • Safely operate forklift & train other associates as necessary.
  • Monitor test data closely, analyze them and communicate as appropriate.
  • Perform yearly validation test and daily routine tests.
  • Generate PPAP certificates / C of A as required by business.
  • This list is not all inclusive and other duties may be assigned as needed.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School diploma with hands-on training in mixing/processing rubber like materials for minimum 5 years and has experience managing a physical lab.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate and percent and to interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.

Computer Skills:

  • Microsoft Office Software, Excel and PowerPoint

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Employee will come in frequent contact with various types of machine oils, lubricants and steering fluids.
