- Interact with scientists to produce novel media
- Calibrate and maintain equipment according to SOP’s

Ability to accurately weight out powders. Prior experience is not required, but an ability to learn and handle new vocabulary will be essential. Specifically, learning chemical and bacterial names and abbreviations. Interpersonal communications skill, ability to organize and prioritize assignments to meet deadlines required. Must be adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of priorities and people. Stability and personal maturity are important attributes in this position. Must maintain confidentiality of information.
Education and/or Experience: High school degree or equivalent. Experience in a laboratory environment, microbiology, and/or autoclave operation is desired but not required.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities at present time.
Environmental, Safety, Quality, and Legal Requirements: Employee safety is a high priority, employees are expected to attend safety training sessions as instructed by the Safety Manager. They are responsible to understand and follow all of the guidelines set forth. Due to the nature of the material being handled, the employee will need to inform management if they are, or will become, immunocompromised.
Language Skills: Ability to read, listen, and speak English is required.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Computer Skills: To perform this job to a valued degree of success, an individual should have moderate knowledge of Microsoft office tools such as including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems to keep the laboratory running efficiently. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Management of supplies will require actively managing stock level and order size based on the changing needs of the laboratory.
