Analyzing lab testing is pretty complex. We depend on the knowledge and skills of our supervisors to support the lab team. Our labs are vital to the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease. What you will do:
- Orchestrates the day to day operation assuring adequate staffing, evaluating and monitoring technical and pre-analytic performance, accountable to maintaining instrumentation, and ensuring quality and timely results.
- Transports, collects, receives, accessions, prepares, and accurately tests biological specimens for analysis using procedures consistent with safe work practices and proper laboratory technique while maintaining integrity of specimens.
- Critically evaluates specimens and correlates all lab results to the clinical picture of each individual. Communicates and documents all testing and results in a timely manner to clinical personnel involved in patient care.
- Maintains and operates test systems and processes for optimal performance, being able to identify and resolve technical problems, utilizing quality control methods and troubleshooting techniques.
- Serves as General Supervisor under CLIAA 88 regulations, follows all regulatory and safety goals.
- Responsible for interviewing, hiring, promoting, terminating, performance improvement plans, and conducting performance evaluations. Assures staff is adequately trained and monitor for competency.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
What you will need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in in biological or chemical science, Medical Technology, Cytotechnology, or a related field preferred.
- Advanced medical lab certification required (MT or MLS, Histotech, or Cytotechnologist).
- Minimum 1 year experience as MT/CLS at moderate or high complexity laboratory.
