The Wistar Institute has multiple openings for Post-Doctoral Fellows in the laboratory of Dr. Daniel Kulp. The lab develops and applies cutting edge technologies to facilitate rational nanoparticle vaccine design targeting broadly protective epitopes on HIV Env, Influenza HA and Coronavirus Spike. Projects will utilize multiple vaccine engineering approaches including structure-based design and directed evolution to design and optimize interactions between vaccine antigens and neutralizing antibodies. Immunizations with designed vaccine candidates will be examined in new humanized mouse models and antigens will be further refined based on serological assessment including antigen-specific B cell sorting. The goal is to develop effective immunogens and immunotherapies for assessment in experimental medicine clinical trials.
We are looking for creative computational or experimental candidates who are excited about making an impact on human health through highly innovative bioengineering approaches.
Candidates should have a PhD (or equivalent) degree or should be close to obtaining their doctoral degree with experience in HIV, SARS-CoV-2, Immunology, Molecular Bioengineering, Structural Biology, Computational Biology, or related field.
