Lab & Fulfillment Intern

New Sun Road is a Public Benefit Corporation on a mission to accelerate energy and internet access for everyone, especially underserved and remote populations. We are a global technology leader for the remote management of renewable energy microgrids. As a Software Engineer, you will be joining a smart and driven team working to address the climate crisis and economic inequality.

New Sun Road is a high growth start up. Our projects are diverse and impactful; our customers build digital literacy centers in the highlands of Guatemala, power remote communities in fire-prone areas of California, and provide mobile renewable energy emergency services during natural disasters. Our unique software platform uses IoT technology and AI algorithms to reduce operating costs and increase control and visibility.

The Intern supports operations tasks including lab management and fulfillment. The Intern will report to the Operations Specialist, and be responsible for supporting him. Interns typically work 20 hours per week during the summer. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level operations professional to gain experience in the clean tech industry, and work with seasoned professionals to increase operations skills and knowledge.

Responsibilities & Projects

• Prepare and execute quality-assurance processes for Stellar Edge (SE) devices, including preparing test harnesses, recording test outcomes and working with engineering team to solve issues
• Assemble, package and ship customer orders
• Organize the laboratory and office, order supplies, etc.
• Support inventory tracking and management

Qualifications

• Ability to take direction and absorb information quickly.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent Excel skills, working knowledge of Google Suite and Quickbooks Online preferred.
• Outstanding multitasking abilities.
• Demonstrable interest in accounting and finance, sustainability, energy, technology, or related areas.
