B) LAB COURIER
Job Description:
American Scientific Labs, Inc. is searching for a candidate that will serve as a contracted employee to perform a variety of courier and delivery duties utilizing their own automobile. The contracted employee will ensure the proper distribution of supplies, results, and samples to various areas within the city as well as outlying locations. Daily tasks and delivery routes are assigned by a supervisor; however, when actually delivering materials, work is performed without direct supervision.
Main responsibilities include:
- Transport of biohazardous specimens including but not limited to blood, urine, stool, synovial fluid, etc., insuring integrity while in transport to designated locations such as blood drawing stations, etc.
- Operates an automobile (your own) to deliver samples, results, correspondence, supplies, etc., as requested
- Picks up items from designated facilities for immediate, next day or future delivery
- Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service
- Excellent customer facing skills; you will be interacting with the client, and therefore, must be generally likeable, friendly and have a good attitude
Specifications:
- Principles and practices of safe motor vehicle operation and maintenance
- Traffic laws, ordinances, and rules involved in motor vehicle operation
- Must have reliable vehicle of your own
- Due to exposure to blood specimen samples, applicant MUST be Hepatitis B vaccinated
- Must provide replacement if unable to report for duty; Since this is a contract position, the candidate must provide a backup plan/person in case of sick days, vacation, etc.
- Knowledgeable in the geography of the routes being assigned to
- Bend or stoop repeatedly or continually over time
- Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elements
- Learn job-related material primarily through oral instruction and observation mainly in an on-the-job training setting.
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions in the English language
- This job requires your schedule to be flexible, must be available 6 days a weeks, M-S with varying shifts
