Two positions available
Assist lab staff and graduate students with local (near-campus) fieldwork, including plant and soil measurements and installation and maintenance of environmental sensors. The person hired will also be involved in a variety of laboratory activities related to plant growth trials, plant tissue digestions, biomass analysis, and data entry. Other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:50% - Essential - Measure plant shape and environmental parameters in local forests
30% - Essential - Dry, grind, and weigh plant tissues in the lab
10% - Essential - Data entry
10% - Essential - Assist graduate students with laboratory tasks such as fertilizing and watering plants
Education - High School or Equivalent
Work Experience 1+ years in related health care setting or in a clinical or research laboratory setting; or 12 semester hours of academic training in biology and/or chemistry; or registration as a Certified Laboratory Assistant by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or an equivalent registry; or successful completion of a formal program of instruction for laboratory assistants at a hospital or academic institution.

COMPENSATION INFORMATIONExpected Salary Range: $12.02 - $16.00/hour
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVELNormal Operations
Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
