The Technology team is excited to be adding a Platform Engineer who will be responsible for the maintenance of the Tevera SAAS Platform running on the Kubernetes hosted in AWS. This team is responsible for deploying, automating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving the systems that keep our products running smoothly.
This role reports to the Director of DevOps & Platforms Engineering. It is full-time exempt and remote in the USA.
Key Responsibilities
- Kubernetes platform deployment with kOps.
- Release to Kubernetes environment with Helm.
- Administer our AWS environments and supporting services, deploy updates, and embrace our security practices.
- Contribute to on-call for production incidents rectification/remediation.
- Diagnose production problems with logs and metrics from a variety of sources.
- Manage complex production environment configuration.
- Rapidly spin POC environments that auto-scale up and down to meet the requirements of the rapid growth of our applications.
- Build the infrastructure to support the continuous deployment of code to the micro-services.
- Automate builds of Docker images, Amazon Machine Images (AMIs), and other assets as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in an IT-related discipline. Can substitute a revelant combination of work experience and education in lieu of a formal degree.
- 9+ years of experience in Systems Engineering.
- 3+ years of work experience as a DevOps or Platform Engineer.
- 3+ years of experience with Kubernetes & Helm.
- Experience with Docker and managing containers.
- Extensive experience with Linux operating systems.
- Experience in Pipelines as Code, Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience with Cloud services like AWS, Azure or GCP.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Argocd, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab.
- Track record of excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with a drive to be a team player. Able to work well with colleagues in both technical and non-techincal roles.
- Curiosity, desire to learn, motivation, and empathy.
- AWS experience: VPC, IAM Roles/policies, Security, EC2, ELB, DNS, RDS, etc.
- Packer, Terraform, or Ansible experience.
- Cloud or related certifications
- Experience managing MySQL or other relational databases
- $100,000 - $122,000 annually depending on qualifications.
- This role is eligible for an annual performance-based bonus.
