Job Description

KJUG COUNTRY is looking for a new Morning Show for one of California’s longest-running and most successful country radio stations.
A proven, engaging, and compelling show is a must for this position, as well as the ability to live and understand the lifestyle of the country listener.

This is an extremely high-profile position, not a four-and-out-the-door job, and not entry level. At least 3-5 years of personality radio experience is required.

The successful candidate will not just reach out to the community, but be a leader in it, with a proven track record of out-doing every other show in their market for visibility, local content, and listener interaction.

Teamwork, collaboration, positive energy, and a strong work ethic are required to succeed in this position. Paid remotes and endorsement opportunities are available in this position.

Visalia is in the shadow of the Sierra Nevada range, with easy access to Yosemite, Kings Canyon, and Sequoia National Parks. You’ll work in a country lifestyle market in California’s Central Valley, some of the world’s most productive agricultural land. KJUG is one of the few locally programmed and managed country radio stations still around, and we pursue an aggressive promotional calendar, including live country shows in the community parks.

Experience with Wide Orbit and multi-track production software, social media and mobile content-generation skills are a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Hosting regular air shifts, plus other voice-tracked shifts as assigned. Duties include working closely with program director to develop relatable content, execute format.
• Control board operation, including editing phone bits, interviews and other audio
• Remotes and appearances at station or live group functions, as assigned.
• Work with sales and promotions to maximize revenue opportunities, including promotions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 3-5 years of on-air radio experience
