Position Summary:
Responsible for washing all dishes and maintaining a clean kitchen/dining room.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans, using dishwashers or by hand.
Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas.
Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition.
Stock supplies, such as food or utensils, in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, or salad bars.
Sweep and wash floors.
Sort and remove the trash, placing it in designated pickup areas.
May perform a variety of food preparation duties as directed by the Head Chef and/or Sous Chef such as salad bar and cold dishes
Assist in unloading and putting away truck deliveries
Competencies
Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information. Ability to deal with challenging customers in a professional manner

QualificationsRequired Skills and Abilities:
Familiar with the industrys best practices
Working knowledge operating a commercial dishwasher
Preferred previous restaurant dishwashing experience
May be required to hold a valid food handlers sanitation certification (may vary based on state/county regulations)
Special Demands
The work environment can be loud and busy. There are many kitchen hazards such as hot surfaces and liquids, sharp knives, and slippery floors.
Required to stand for long periods as well as walk, bend and stoop.
Must be able to lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.
