Full or Part-Time: 6 to 8 hour shifts available.
Position Summary:
The primary duty of the PawsAbilities Kitchen Support/Student Development Specialist is to ensure that students are learning, growing and prepared for employment. This position is responsible for daily teaching time, assessing pre-employment skills, and developing individualized case management plans for community employment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee aspects of Bakery:
Manage all production of baked pet products in accordance with production goals
Ensure safety of program participants
Operate/maintain kitchen equipment and facility
Maintain accurate records and documentation
Track product production
Ensure all supplies, ingredients, and packaging items are fully stocked
Maintain a clean and safe environment in the kitchen
Skill Training/Student Development:
Direct supervision of students during the workday
Instruct students in all facets of treat making including safe operation of kitchen equipment
Guide participant learning in the areas of employment, social interaction, and resiliency
Create a positive learning environment
Assist students with goal setting
Assess student learning outcomes and provide appropriate documentation
Participate in creating the daily schedule.
Education/Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree or experience in a related field is preferred.
Active Driver’s license and minimum state-required automobile insurance required
CPR and First Aid Certification Preferred
Experience Required:
1 to 2 years prior experience in this field preferred.
Experience working with the intellectual and developmental disability population
Knowledge of basic computer software with experience using Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel

Organized with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
Must be able to perform extensive walking, standing and lifting up to 30 pounds regularly and 50 pounds with assistance. Must be able to bend, stoop, and lift overhead to reach materials.
