Role
We seek a professional and organized Kitchen Steward who will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards of cookware, cooking utensils, other kitchen equipment, and the overall kitchen. The Kitchen Steward will also assist with kitchen prep work and cleaning duties as needed. Successful candidates will be organized, self-motivated, and have problem-solving abilities.
Kitchen Steward Job Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean kitchen, properly wash and sort soiled dishes, and prep foods as needed.
- Keep dish area free of clutter and organized.
- Set up dish stations, including dish machines and sinks.
- Maintain clean/dry floors throughout the shift.
- Properly wash, stack, and store cookware and storage containers.
- Change water of machines and sinks every two hours or more often as required by business levels, and properly use chemical dilutions set by Cintas.
- Assist in the timely storing of food deliveries.
- Maintain trash cans throughout shift and remove full trashcans and boxes at the end of each shift.
- Maintain all handwashing stations.
- Follow the posted daily dish cleaning duties.
- Assist in food prep and any other duties set forth or requested by the chef as needed.
- Follow all Safety and Sanitation Policies and Procedures.
- Follow designated Opening and Closing Checklists.
- Other duties as assigned.

Kitchen Steward Qualifications/Skills
- Customer service
- Planning and multi-tasking
- Self-motivated with a high energy level
- Proof of eligibility to work in the US
- Ability to understand both written and spoken English
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (minimum of 8 hours a day)
- Be able to reach, bend, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Hospitality-related kitchen experience preferred
- Serv-Safe Certified
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
