We’re Hiring: Kitchen Lead
Role Overview:
JerryBob’s is on the lookout for a Kitchen Lead to take the helm of our kitchen operations during shifts, ensuring the delivery of top-notch culinary experiences to our patrons. As a pivotal figure in our kitchen, you’ll report directly to the Kitchen Manager, bringing leadership, precision, and a passion for culinary excellence to our team. Your day will start by opening the kitchen, setting the stage for the day’s success with your timeliness, punctuality, and unmatched attendance record. Your role is critical in maintaining the rhythm of our kitchen, from managing the line to mastering the art of egg cuisine, all while thriving under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Spearhead kitchen operations during your shift, providing guidance and direction to the kitchen team.
- Efficiently open the kitchen each morning, ensuring everything is prepared for a successful service.
- Exhibit exemplary punctuality, reliability, and the ability to motivate oneself and others.
- Handle line cooking duties with proficiency, especially in preparing egg-based dishes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment in compliance with food hygiene and health standards.
- Coordinate closely with the Kitchen Manager, other kitchen staff, and service teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Oversee stock levels and place orders as needed to prevent shortages.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in a lead cook role or a position of similar responsibility within a kitchen.
- Strong knowledge of cooking procedures, particularly with line cooking and egg preparation.
- Excellent time management skills, with a proven track record of punctuality and reliability.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and team collaboration skills.
- A keen eye for detail, quality, and adherence to food safety standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent; a culinary school diploma will be considered an asset.
