Description of Work
The Kiewit Hall "Garage" Director will be responsible for all operational and administrativeaspects for this state-of-the-art 25,000 SF space including but not limited to the following:
• Leading, implementing, administering, and evaluating all day-to-day operational activities for the new Kiewit Hall "Garage" space as directed by the COE Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs and college upper administration.
• Collaborating with COE faculty on instructional use of the space for assigned curriculum-based student assignments and student organization projects.
• Serving as chief technical administrator for all equipment and instrumentation housed in the facility.
• Assessing all training and safety needs for all facility users and ensuring development and deployment of all training processes.
• Identifying operational or instructional issues associated with the facility and developing alternative solutions including changes to policies and procedures.
• Supervising new and experienced student workers employed by the facility.
• Reviewing and analyzing facility usage trends in order to advise COE upper administration and develop recommendations for highest and best use of the facility.
• Determining facility operating budget, leading facility budget planning, and facilitation of related financial decisions.
• Interaction and stewardship of industry partners who are engaged with faculty to develop and deliver capstone design projects and other student assignments.
• Providing leadership on future strategic planning for operation of the facility including collaboration with college upper administration on perceived challenges and opportunities involving all aspects of the facility.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline. At least five (5) years' experience with large-scale project or facility management and developing and leading new initiatives and strategies. Knowledge of engineering-related equipment and instrumentation, machining, electronics or related areas. Strong collaborative skills with client-service and instructional mentalities. Strong organizational and time management skills. Proven ability to manage, instruct, train and lead others. Adept at problem-solving for complex challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree in engineering, engineering management, or related field. Knowledge and experience including increasing levels of responsibility in engineering-related or engineering-adjacent facilities or laboratories in higher education setting.
