Kid's Pastor - Vineyard Florence

VF is a Jesus-centered place in Florence, KY (Y’all) (located 20-30 minutes south of Cincinnati, OH). The Vineyard Legacy Church has operated as an integral part of the national and global movement since the mid-1980’s. The church currently gathers about 250-300 people each Sunday and strive to provide the children and families with amazing disciple-making opportunities, kid-friendly facilities, and resources to help grow in and share the faith. The church will be a people Anchored in the Word who walk in the Spirit. The church is entering an exciting new season in seeking to transform the community by developing devoted and missional disciples of Jesus.

Job Description w/Overview: (This is a full-time position)

The Kid’s Pastor will champion the mission of guiding the kids (infant through 5th grade), the families, and teams in the lifelong process of becoming fully developed disciples of Christ. The church desires to partner with families, to help the kids become flourishing, reproducing disciples who are integrated into the church’s life and grow to be leaders who stand out for Jesus in all areas of the kids' young lives. This is a role made for a leader, disciple-maker, and team player.

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate for the Kid’s Pastor will minister out of a deep faith in Jesus along with six key core competencies:

1. Be a disciple of Jesus who has had folks the candidate has discipled, make more disciples. (Multiplication)
2. Have a great love of children and a heart for this kind of ministry. This is not a stepping-stone ministry at VF!
3. This individual will be highly organized with a very strong administrative gifting.
4. A person who is a natural team builder and leader of leaders.
5. This candidate possesses excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and public communication skills.
6. Be a person who uses, understands, and integrates technology in life and in ministry.

Our purpose at VF is to Love God (UP), Love Others - discipling relationships (IN), and Impact the World (OUT). The ideal candidate will be Jesus-focused, relationally centered, and missionally driven with a contagious passion for Jesus. The church is praying for someone who is a team player, a self-starter, and can assess the needs of young families. This person will take the initiative to develop the ministry and a discipleship pathway in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Vineyard Florence. The church hopes to serve with a proven leader who has a heart for serving and promoting awareness of orphaned children in the foster care system in need of adoption; this is a BIG value for Vineyard Florence!

Whatyou’ll be doing UP/IN/OUT:

UP (Passionate Worship)

• Serving on a prayerful, loving, supportive, focused, fun, and missional team of disciples who make disciples.
• Providing vision, direction, oversight, and development for kids’ ministry from birth through 5th grade.
• Providing Biblically based and Spirit-led teaching, training, and tactics to kids, parents, and volunteers.
• Ministering to families by connecting what happens on the weekends and events with what happens at home.

• Helping create a plan of re-gathering with plans to support online, home church, small group discipleship, and in-person Sunday morning ministries.
• Be part of two weekly staff prayer times together (Wednesday 5am Flow Prayer/one weekly 6:30am on Zoom.
• Participate, plan, and promote family prayer and worship nights and events.

IN (Fellowship and Followship)

• Recruit and connect with ministry partners to establish a team and build relationships.
• Being known and loved by pre-school and elementary kids at VF and in the community.
• Caring for the Kid’s Ministry team through continual prayer, discipleship, consistent communication, monthly team gatherings, and regular 1-on-1 or small group type-meetings.
• Connecting the Kid’s Ministry team to Jesus, the VF vision, and to one another.
• Reporting to and meeting bi-weekly with the Executive Pastor.
• Attending and participating in weekly Staff Meeting.
• Be part of or lead a House Group and attend monthly leadership/discipleship trainings.
• Sunday-Thursday work week is typical with at least one day weekly Sabbath expected for Lord/self/family.

OUT (Missional Zeal)

• Creating an awareness of the Vineyard Kid’s ministry in the community through services, outreach events, programs, etc. that reach the poor, marginalized, under-resourced, and broken of our community.

• Overseeing a ministry with a relevant and strong social media presence via numerous platforms.
• Integrating Kids into the life of the church by cultivating multi-generational relationships and service opportunities.

Other Core Responsibilities:

• Facilitate opportunities for parents to connect with one another throughout the week.
• Provide families with resources and midweek online connection opportunities that promote the daily habits of prayer, Bible study, and outward-focused service.
• Recruit, train, deploy, and resource Kid’s leaders who will share Jesus with kids and families.
• Collaborate with the Student Ministry Pastor and leaders to create seamless discipleship and promotion pathways in and out of Kid’s Ministry.
• Assist House Group leaders/families with strategies, resources, and coaching for involving and caring for and including children during gatherings.
• Manage the yearly budget.

Preferred Skill Set:

• Proven track record in recruiting and developing ministry partners.
• Innovation and creativity. Comfortable with and open to working with technology (social media platforms, online curriculum, email, etc.).
• Experience working with many children from varying racial/socio-economic backgrounds in/outside of church.
• Past practices supervising staff and/or ministry partners (volunteers) in any type of work/church environment.
• Ability to multi-task and be a self-starter.
• Prior experience teaching and training children, students, and families.
• Work experience outside of a full-time ministry/non-profit environment a plus.
• Family must be willing to call Vineyard Florence their church home, verified by attending, tithing, and serving.
• College degree preferred, but not required.
• Familiarity and prior experience with Planning Center, ProPresenter as well as previous video/livestream services experience would be a plus.
