About this position:

The Communications Division (DCC) within the Knowledge, Innovation, and Communications Sector (KIC) plays a pivotal role in advancing the IDB Group's positioning as the preferred development partner in the region. Leveraging digital intelligence, data, and creativity, DCC collaborates with various media, email, and social channels to spotlight impactful stories within the region.

DCC is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic native English speaker with expertise in editing to fulfill the role of an English Editor for Communications Content. The primary focus will be on reviewing and enhancing digital Communications Content while providing support to IDB Lab's social media platforms.

What you'll do: 

  • Under the supervision of the Communications Business Partner for IDB Lab in KIC/DCC, the consultant will be responsible for:

  • Content Creation and Editing: Edit and create content in both English and Spanish for various digital communication channels, including web pages, press releases, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter.

  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyze performance indicators for web and social media metrics. Prepare reports and presentations on the performance of IDB Lab's web and social media channels.

  • Collaboration and Coordination: Manage workflow with designers and producers to develop artwork and multimedia content for digital campaigns and provide support in managing the social media content calendar in coordination with IDB Lab's community manager.

  • Training and Advocacy: Conduct social media training sessions for employee advocacy within IDB Lab.

  • Digital Marketing Campaigns: Develop digital marketing campaigns to promote IDB Lab's knowledge products and events, and create and edit digital content, implement campaigns, and report on performance.

  • Website Content Management: Assist in maintaining and creating content for IDB Lab website.

  • Written Communication Material: Curate, create, and edit written communication material such as brochures, in both English and Spanish.

What you'll need:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in journalism, marketing, communications, business, or other related fields preferred.

  • Experience: At least 4 years of relevant experience.

  • Languages: Native English speaker with proficiency in Spanish (Portuguese proficiency is also desirable).

  • Proficiency in graphic design software and use of Canva.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Requirements:

  • Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.  

  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

Type of contract and duration:

  • Type of contract: International Consultant Full-Time.

  • Length of contract: 12 months .

  • Work Location: On site.
