Uniseal, an LG Chem Company, is a key provider for automotive manufacturers and top tier suppliers worldwide. Uniseal is actively searching for a Key Account Manager to support OEM accounts located in Detroit, Michigan. The Key Account Manager is responsible for initiating, securing, overseeing and coordinating all sales and engineering activities for their respective accounts. This person is the primary interface between Uniseal and the customer, specifically Engineering and Purchasing. This person also coordinates with and is responsible for tasks deemed necessary by the Director of Global Sales. This is a 100% remote role with travel required to clients.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

Commercial

  • Develop and maintain all sales activities for each account
  • Prepare, forecast and set automotive sales goals for each calendar year
  • Maximize product pricing / profitability
  • Inform management of all account activity both verbally and written
  • Interface with customers, including informing customers of Uniseal’s:
    • New technologies
    • Application knowledge
    • Product knowledge
  • Develop methods to sell Uniseal’s product line
  • Actively participate in continuous education for improved job performance
  • Advance Uniseal’s corporate image and convey Uniseal’s strengths to the customer base:
    • Superior product line
    • Value
    • Cost efficiencies
    • Technology
    • Performance (quality, deliver)
    • Service and responsiveness
  • Identify potential markets
  • Determine customer needs and Uniseal’s solutions

Providing Direction to Research & Development

  • Expand relationships with Design/Platform Engineers
    • Proactive determination of customer needs
  • Steer strategies to determine the types of products to pursue in the marketplace, current, and for the future
  • Stay informed of all technological trends within the industry
  • Develop product specifications with individual customer requirements identified
  • Assist in setting Research priorities
  • Provide feedback regarding customer needs and material trials

Satisfying Corporate Objectives

  • Ensure all sales and marketing activities are conducted within the established legal and ethical policies, and the operating philosophy of Uniseal, Inc.
  • Maintain contact with customers during contract execution and after contract completion to help discover and repair any business partnership concerns. Coordinate involvement of all necessary departments within Uniseal to meet or exceed all contract commitments.
  • Communicate clearly and completely to the Uniseal Accounting Department the requirements and expectations for specific sales projects, including developing innovative competitive bids that distinguish Uniseal, Inc. from our competitors.
  • Assist in establishing pricing strategy with the focus of maximizing Uniseal’s share of the market and profits.

Communicating with Production

  • Detail trends and expectations to production management to allow resource planning
  • Work with Production Scheduling to resolve conflicts

Competitive Benchmarking

  • Advance methods to distinguish Uniseal from Uniseal’s competitors including benchmarking all competitor’s sales strategies, products, and methods

Quality & Environmental Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper implementation of Uniseal’sQuality Operating System:
    • Identify problems, recommend solutions, and follow up on corrective actions to ensure continuous improvement
  • Uphold IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 programs and fulfill specified responsibilities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required.
  • 10+ years of direct Automotive OEM industry sales experience required
  • Minimum 5+years experience selling Sealants and Adhesives Automotive OEM required
  • Travel up to 60%, primarily within Michigan
