Responsibilities: - Provide care and support for animals in the kennel facility - Handle and restrain animals safely and securely - Assist with feeding, grooming, and bathing of animals - Clean and maintain kennel areas, including disinfecting cages and common areas - Monitor animal behavior and report any concerns to supervisory staff - Assist with administering medications as directed by veterinary staff - Provide exercise and playtime for animals in a safe and controlled manner - Assist with basic veterinary procedures under the supervision of a veterinarian or veterinary technician - Maintain accurate records of animal care, including feeding schedules, medications, and behavior observations Requirements: - Previous experience working with animals, preferably in a kennel or veterinary setting - Strong knowledge of animal handling techniques and safety protocols - Excellent customer service skills to interact with pet owners and provide information about their pets' well-being - Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time - Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed - Knowledge of basic pet grooming techniques is a plus - Experience as a veterinary assistant or in a related field is highly desirable Note: This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position.
