We are a very busy clinic looking for full-time kennel support staff to provide a positive experience for our clients and patients. Applicants MUST be able to work rotating weekends and holidays and must be able to work with dogs and cats of all sizes and breeds. Applicants must not be afraid of typical dog behavior such as jumping and barking and typical cat behavior such as hissing and scratching.
Job responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Provide compassionate daily care to pets (feeding, watering, exercising)
- Walk through the kennel area regularly checking on pets for any abnormal behavior and being able to enlist the help of veterinary assistants and/or veterinarian if necessary.
- Clean and disinfect kennels, runs, kitty condos, litter boxes, and yard as needed. As well as maintaining food and storage areas
- Administer medications to pets that require medication while boarding
- Bathing cats/dogs
- Operate a washer and dryer to clean kennel bedding and hospital laundry
- Talk with owners upon check-in/check-out process
- Record and label pet's personal belongings and medications
Special Work Conditions:
- Ability to l1ft at least 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch for long periods of time
- Endure standing and walking on hard surfaces for extended periods of time.
- Able to work in noisy conditions with sounds from animals and machinery that can be loud.
- Must be able to exchange accurate information with all clients and team members.
