· Cleaning cages and kennels.
· Cleaning and changing litter boxes.
· Setting up post-operative kennels and radiographs as needed
· Handling general patient care tasks such as Recovery, Prep, and OR
· Labeling of personal items of the patient to ensure return to owner (including patient blankets and personal belongings)
· Bathing patients as directed.
· Walking patients as directed.
· Transporting patients and items to and from the hospitals.
· Completing aftercare of deceased patients.
· Handling animals and performing safe restraint (after required training)
· Surgical equipment care and maintenance
· Perform in house laboratory testing; prepare samples for outside laboratory testing
· Documentation of quality control methods
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
· Responsible for maintaining the clean efficient working area.
· Responsible for completing checklists for each area which may include but are not limited to:
o Dust mopping.
o Wet mopping.
o Laundry.
o Trash removal.
· Maintaining appropriate appearance as delineated in the CARE Center Handbook.
· Attending departmental and hospital meetings as scheduled.
· Assisting other departments and other Care Center hospital as needed.
· Completing other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS – EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE
· High school diploma, GED, or higher education.
· Ability to work independently on assigned tasks and accept direction on given assignments.
· Ability to remain calm in stressful situations, not allowing emotions to overwhelm attitude and/or performance.
· Ability to foster a positive work environment for colleagues and clients.
· Ability to effectively communicate.
