Sun Valley Sports- A growing specialty sporting goods retailer in Indianapolis, IN is seeking an Assistant Manager to join our team. Direct to customer sales is a primary function of the job as an Assistant Manager- being one of the sales leads on the floor. We are looking for a personable, friendly, responsible, and trustworthy candidate to be one of the faces of our business. Our primary business during fall and winter months is as a Ski & Snowboard Shop. We are part of a group of stores and are one of the largest in the Midwest for snowsports retail. Having a passion for skiing or snowboarding is a huge plus in this position. No prior experience working in a ski shop is required, but it would be a huge plus. We will train you! During the summer months we sell watersports equipment (Skis, Wakeboards, Tubes, ect) as well as Hobie Kayaks and accessories. Having a passion for being on the water would also be a plus.
Pay is an hourly rate plus commission of sales. Responsibilities would include opening and or closing the store, keeping part time employees trained and busy at all times. Also, a little bit of store marketing and social media to try to bring customers into the store.
This is a full time year round position with benefits, health care, paid time off, IRA plan all available. A typical weekly schedule would include 1 weekend day and at least 2 evenings. 5 days a week. 40-45 hours with overtime pay.
