Ellis Island Casino, Hotel & Brewery is looking for a new Karaoke Host! We have over 800 hard-working and passionate employees throughout our many properties. Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Practice teamwork and support fellow team members to create an energized, positive work atmosphere
- Greet and ID all entering guests.
- Keep a running head count through the night.
- Prior to seating, explain the $20 minimum spend per guest.
- Know what tables/bar-tops are available and who will be their server/bartender.
- Memorize the Lounge menu, including bottle service list, and any current specials we may be Running.
- Communicate efficiently with bartenders/KJ Host/Servers of any needs. (ie-table bussing, problem guests, etc)
- Upsell the VIP booth while explaining benefits.
- Minimum spend of $250 weekdays (Sun-Thur) and $300 weekends (Fri/Sat). Includes 3 VIP “Skip the Line” Passes that put them at the 5th spot in queue.
- Creates and ensures a fresh, positive, and exciting environment where sanitation and flawless delivery and execution of product excellence and service are paramount.
- Follows all OSHA and safety guidelines set forth by Ellis Island Casino
- Always promotes positive public/employee relations
- Controlling the flow of the Lounge through awareness of business needs/volumes, station assignments, breaks, etc
- Assist with station assignments, rotation planning, and opening/closing/securing the room at shift change or according to established hours of operation, etc
- Report all situations to a manager in a timely manner. Guest issues/complaints should be brought to the F&B Manager first, then, if unresolved, the MOD.
- Maintain communication with the Café F&B Manager and/or MOD of any pressing issues.
- Ability to multi-task including but not limited to greeting guests, rearranging seating, etc
- Greets customer immediately upon entry
- Elaborates on all aspects of outlet(s) including theme, bottle service procedures, cash handling procedures, and events
- Offers proper farewell greeting to all
- Perform other job-related duties and side works as requested.
Qualifications
- One (1) year of relevant experience (required)
- High School diploma or equivalent (required)
- Knowledge of Lounge and entertainment functions
- Experience working in a similar resort setting and position
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively communicate with guests, co-workers and management
- Knowledgeable of Ellis Island Casino and all it has to offer
- Awareness of all activities on property
- Ability to maintain a high level of personal integrity and moral conduct free of any questionable association
- Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and verbal forms
- Ability to communicate effectively, concisely, and logically in a timely manner and at an appropriate level, while maintaining confidentiality
- Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast paced, team-oriented environment
- Proficiency of computer software to include Outlook, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as Mac OSX, and POS systems
- Excellent organizational skills to function effectively under time constraints and within established deadlines, with particular attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand and walk; use hands to handle objects, tools or controls; and regularly lift and/or move objects weighing at least 25 pounds. Team Member may also become involved in physical altercations requiring the use of force to overcome and restrain disorderly persons. The noise level in the work environment is fairly loud.
