Koch Ag & Energy Solutions (KAES) is seeking Environmental interns to join our teams this upcoming Summer 2024 at one of our many nationwide locations.

Koch Industries has been consistently selected as one of the top 100 Internship Programs in the U.S by WayUp. The internship opportunity will be a 12-week program running from late May to mid-August 2024.

Our Team

As an Environmental intern, you will work to identify and implement solutions which benefit stewardship and compliance goals for our Fort Dodge, IA, Dodge City, KS, and Beatrice, NE fertilizer facilities. You will work on strategies and solutions designed to improve or maintain environmental performance in air quality, water quality, or waste minimization. These solutions should be mutually beneficial to the facility, community, and governmental partners. Koch's internship programs provide a way for you to explore your passions and learn new skills to further your impact and reach your full potential.

What You Will Do

  • Analyze process and environmental trends to prioritize improvement opportunities and work accordingly.
  • Coordinate and/or conduct EH&S field sampling inspections to support current and future EH&S efforts at each facility.
  • Support operating sites by understanding and maintaining compliance with Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and other regulations relevant to Koch Fertilizer
  • Form relationships with key customers such as operations, maintenance, and contractor personnel.
  • Participate in EH&S audit teams, incident investigations, and projects requiring EH&S expertise.
  • Develop your capability around risk-planning tools and grow your knowledge of regulatory frameworks, compliance, and governmental and legal interactions.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Enrolled in a degree or alternative program. (e.g., 2-year technical college program, certificate program, upskilling program, etc.)
  • Eligible for full time employment on or before Summer 2026.
  • Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Enrolled in an Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science related degree program.
