The Valley Park School District invites passionate, energetic, student-centered coaches to apply for the position of JV HeadBaseball Coach for the Spring 2024 season. The ideal candidate possesses both a high level of knowledge of the game of baseball but also a passion for helping student-athletes grow socially, emotionally, physically, and academically today in preparation for tomorrow. Essential duties and responsibilities include: Assist the head coach with instructing and training participants in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport;Organize and direct individual and small group practice activities/exercises as directed by the head coach;Assess strengths and weaknesses in participants' performance as well as provide encouragement and constructive feedback while keeping the head coach informed of participants' performance;Assist the head coach with determining game strategy;Assist the head coach in providing supervision of all participants until they have left the building and/or site;Follow established procedures in the event of a student-athlete's injury;Maintain high standards of student-athlete behavior;Act as a positive role model to students on and off the court/field/site;Encourage student-athletes to maintain a high academic standard;Maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, students, and coaches;Follow MSHSAA and District regulations; andPerform other duties as assigned by the head coach.
Position: Part-time temporary, season specificEducation: Minimum 60 credit hours.Certification: Missouri State Teaching Certificate or Missouri Substitute Certificate or NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching CourseExperience: Prior coaching or playing experience in the sport preferred.
