Peraton's National Programs Business Intelligence Systems & Applications Operating Unit has a need for an experienced Systems Engineer to support its SITE III BES contract charged with the orchestration, sustainment, and evolution of a portfolio of applications that focus on the business functions (Acquisition, Training, Security, Human Resources) which facilitate critical administrative services across the Defense Intelligence Agency's entire global workforce.  The SITE III BES contract is designed to establish and ensure a multi-discipline approach to requirements engineering, solutions engineering, scheduling, reliability, resiliency, services development, integration, test and evaluation, maintainability and analysis across the supported agency directorates and branches.  Our support team applies best practices in architecture design, data science, cloud services, DevSecOps and platform integration to develop, sustain and continually evolve the enterprise business systems environment, systems integration and back-end business process workflows.

 

Peraton is seeking a Systems Engineer II candidate to support an Intelligence Community customer in the Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area. The candidate will be a part of the Sustainment team supporting a portfolio of applications across multi-networks.  Duties and responsibilities include:    

  • Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools. 
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems availability. 
  • Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks and work with developers to implement those fixes. 
  • Trouble-shoot, monitor, and resolve system issues as required to maintain operations 
  • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies. 
  • Build, maintain, and deploy client and server systems. 
  • Work with an Information Assurance team to ensure compliance with Authorizations to Operate (ATOs) 
Qualifications

2 years with BS/BA; 0 years with MS/MA; 6 years with no degree

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field of study with 2+ years of relevant experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with systems administration 
  • Must be a US Citizen 
  • Active TS/SCI clearance adjudication, and ability to pass a CI poly  
  • Must hold activeCompTIAs8570 Approved Certification 
  • Experience working with an internal certificate server 
  • Ability to anticipate problems & take decisive action 
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, including professional and respectful telephone etiquette 
  • Must be decisive, conscientious, and interact well in a team environment 
  • Have a strong desire to learn and be able to follow policies and procedures 
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work well with a limited supervision 
  •  

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows 2016 or higher 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or higher 
  • KnowledgeWindows and VMWare Experience 
  • Capable of deploying and integrating new applications as well as learning new applications that run on various operating systems for testing and deployment 
  • Experience with performance tuning/troubleshooting, identifying/resolving contention in CPU, memory, networking, disk I/O, etc. 
Target Salary Range$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.Employment Type: FULL_TIME
