SalaryWestern Door Federal is seeking a Junior Security Analyst, to support the US Patent and Trademark Office, in Alexandria, VA. The objective of this position is to be part of a cybersecurity program and team that provides security assessment, verification, validation and documentation support, who will operate under the supervision of the RMF Team Lead.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with maintaining IT security policies, processes, and guidance
- Assist in the development of guidelines, policies, and procedures in support of a cybersecurity program
- Engage in the development and continuous monitoring of POA&Ms
- Support with assessing systems and applications deployed in cloud environments
- Work with other government personnel, consultants and contractors to achieve common goals
- Assist with the implementation of comprehensive security controls
Basic Qualifications:
- Thorough understanding of the RMF process, NIST controls and deliverables, and FedRAMP, inside out.
- Understand technology, at the basic level.
- Strong writing capabilities are a must.
- Be able to confidently speak and articulate security controls and deliverables with the Assessment Team and ISSOs.
- Attention to detail and analytical capability.
- Customer centered and Problem solving attitude.
- Ability to work with collateral engineers, analysts and managers on related programs
- Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously; coordinating and ensuring scheduled goals are met
- Ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal means to co-workers and senior leadership
Education/Security/Certification Requirements:
- Active Public Trust
- Bachelor's degree with two (2) years of relevant experience or minimum four (4) years of experience with no degree.
- Certification in one, or more, of the following:
- GIAC Systems and Network Auditor (GSNA)
- ISC2 Certified Authorization Professional (CAP)
- ISC2 Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP)
- ISC2 System Security Certified Practitioner (SCP)
- ISACA Certified Information System Auditor (CISA)
- GIAC Information Security Professional (GISP)
- GIAC Security Leadership Certification (GSLC)
Desired Skills:
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Flexibility and ability to pivot/shift, as needs demand
- Technical experience in cybersecurity
- Experience with C&A or A&A
