Junior Security Analyst

Job Description

BITCO Corporation is currently seeking a Junior Security Analystto join our Home Office team in Davenport, IA.  BITCO provides quality insurance services to special industries including construction, forest products, and oil & gas. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

 

Position Summary:

This role is responsible for handling information technology security practices and procedures which includes analyzing, implementing, and monitoring those practices and procedures. This role also coordinates activities with the Internal Audit department and participates with outside auditors to ensure that internal and external security requirements are implemented and maintained.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develops and maintains an understanding of external and internal security practices required to meet corporate and regulatory requirements involving the security, maintenance and retention of company data records
• Participates in the acquisition, configuration, and installation of software/utilities used to administer, monitor, and review information technology related security activities
• Develops and maintains an understanding of various software/utilities to administer, monitor and review security related activities
• Prepares and/or coordinates distribution of reports to I.T. management and to internal/external auditors
• Leads and maintains the process for scheduled and unscheduled audits of information technology related security practices and procedures
• Reviews and recommends changes to internal security related practices/documentation
• Performs routine and special assignments in support of security related tasks
• Facilitates all audit, governance, compliance, and other various requests
• Serves as a backup for any tasks identified as critical or requiring immediate attention
• Performs other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business Administration with Technology as a core component preferred
• Familiarity with the following IT Security concepts is preferred:
  • IT security risk and mitigation strategies
  • Security incident response
  • Security frameworks
  • Regulatory guidelines
  • IT security logging and monitoring
  • IT security monitoring tools
  • Controls, best practices, and security protocols
  • Intrusion Detection: SIEM, IDS, and IPS
  • Operating systems, networks, and security fundamentals
  • Network security controls
  • Threat knowledge
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
