Junior Quality Assurance Technician

Kerotest Manufacturing Corp., a world class supplier of products for the energy markets, is looking for a Jr. QA Tech. For over 100 years, Kerotest has been a leading supplier of valves, systems, fittings, and accessories for the energy sector, with a particularly strong history in the natural gas distribution and transmission areas.

The Jr. QA Tech reports to the Quality Assurance Manager and through their directions will inspect manufactured products throughout all departments prior to shipment and incoming materials to ensure they conform to applicable engineering specifications. You will assist other QA personnel with duties such as analysis of returned product and material testing.

Ability to read calipers a plus!!! Pay based on experience. 

Responsibilities and Duties

• Visual and Precision Inspection: Perform thorough visual inspections of manufactured parts and utilize calibrated tools, including calipers and gauges, to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.

• Defect Identification: Identify and document any defects or deviations from quality standards promptly. Prevent the release of defective parts into the production line.

• Documentation and Reporting: Generate accurate and comprehensive scrap reports detailing any identified defects. Maintain detailed records of inspection results, providing valuable data for quality analysis.

• Data Analysis: Collaborate with the quality team to analyze inspection data and trends. Use statistical methods to identify areas for improvement and contribute to the development of effective corrective and preventive actions.

• Assistance with RMA's and EMT's: Play a key role in the Return Material Authorization (RMA) and Engineering Material Transfer (EMT) processes. Collaborate with relevant departments to facilitate the efficient resolution of issues related to returned or transferred materials. 

• Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting enhancements to processes and procedures to optimize quality and efficiency on the shop floor.

• Procedure Reading and Interpretation: Proficiently read and interpret manufacturing procedures to ensure adherence to established protocols and standards.

Qualifications and Skills

• High School Diploma or GED
• One year QA related experience

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
