Junior Project Engineer


Our client is a premier commercial lighting provider near the Atlanta area, and is seeking to add a Junior Project Engineer to their team. Their products have always combined reliability with aesthetics and pleasing design with performance, characterizing the history of technical lighting. The company has a perpetual enthusiasm for innovation which has led the group to become a solid global point of reference in the world of design and architecture.


Requirements:

  • Collaborate with senior engineers to design, develop and prepare spec sheets, technical drawings and develop modified products, systems, or solutions
  • Conduct research and collect data to support engineering projects and initiatives
  • Perform tests, simulations, and analyses to evaluate the performance and reliability of engineering designs
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas to improve existing products or processes
  • Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices enhancing engineering knowledge and skills in order to continuously maintain and improve engineering processes and standards
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues that may arise during the development or production phase
  • Effectively communicate in both verbal and written form to convey complex technical information clearly and concisely to cross-functional teams including HQ teams in Italy
  • Create new part numbers and BoMs in our MRP system to support the customer service team
  • Provide wiring instructions or diagrams to production
  • Provide training to fellow employees as new products are launched and new technologies become available
  • Complete assigned tasks within established timelines and budgets while maintaining high-quality standards
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and precision along with strong technical knowledge and understanding of engineering principles, concepts, and methodologies
  • Proficiency in 3D software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for design and drafting
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment as well as independently when required
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn and develop new skills and must be able to multi-task


Qualifications:

  • Preferred Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
  • 1-2 years of relevant internship or entry-level engineering experience is preferred
  • Competency in electrical fundamentals
  • Product development knowledge
  • Lighting industry background is a plus
  • Engineering compliance knowledge
  • Technical experience in troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Occasional travel
