The Role
Nabis is seeking a passionate Junior Product Designer to help elevate our software solutions. This role presents an opportunity to contribute to defining new standards and paradigms in the rapidly-growing cannabis industry across multiple states.
The Junior Product Designer will support Nabis in developing its product to better empower customers to gain visibility into their transactions, inventory, and sales opportunities. They will own the design process end-to-end, identifying opportunities through user research and translating insights into simple and usable experiences that delight our users. They will work across multiple teams and communicate with customers to shape software that best supports brands and dispensaries.
Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end web experiences that empower our users to manage hundreds of products and orders in a scalable, sustainable manner.
- Own the design process for assigned projects, partnering with product and engineering teams, as well as cross-departmental partners to understand customer needs and opportunities, and appropriate solutions for these objectives.
- Communicate with relevant stakeholders on proposed solutions, presenting demos and prototypes.
- Engage in customer research to gain UX insights to share with the product team.
- Work alongside engineering to refine implemented designs, holding a high standard to ensure work is accessible, bug-free, and performant.
- Collaborate with the product team to define long-term vision and short-term opportunities across the product to increase customer satisfaction and retention.
- Advocate for a great user experience, inspiring the broader team to elevate Nabis' software offerings.
- Participate in design reviews with the Senior Product Designer to provide and seek feedback.
- Support Marketing and Executive teams to create one-offs such as presentations or emails.
- Contribute to the Nabis design standards library, and play a key role in shaping the design direction of the company.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- 1-2+ years UI/UX design experience for web applications and/or mobile. Responsive web design and development experience is also considered.
- A portfolio showing an equivalent skill level is required.
- Ability to work within established design systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Figma, particularly building mockups, wireframes, prototypes, and specs.
- Mastery of the Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Basic knowledge and familiarity with web design and the box model.
- Ability to intuitively navigate through ambiguity when solving for user experiences and stories.
- Experience in handling multiple complex projects simultaneously and at a fast pace.
- Communication and presentation skills, ability to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders to drive work forward.
- Obsessive over learning and understanding how to best serve the user, and desire to create frictionless experiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Work experience in relevant B2B fields such as e-commerce, analytical tools, or financial services.
- Experience with basic, responsive front-end development (HTML/CSS) a plus.
- Experience with email and print design.
- Proven leadership ability when working alongside developers, and responsiveness to compromise based on time or technical constraints.
