Job Description
Entry level paralegal position primarily responsible for supporting litigation team by processing, calendaring and filing case related mail and email, preparing notices of scheduling conflicts and leaves of absence and withdrawal notices. Also, provides general litigation support under the direction of more senior paralegals and associate attorneys to include drafting of standard documents, document organization and copying, preparation of routine client correspondence, maintenance and purging of client files, filing of pleadings electronically and at the clerk of court. Salary within range posted and commensurate with education, skills and experience.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2+ years of post-secondary education. Bachelors degree, two years of law office experience or paralegal certification preferred, but not required. Bilingual applicants will receive hiring preference.
Skills:
Ability to follow instructions of supervising attorney or senior paralegal in the drafting of basic legal documents; ability to communicate effectively with clients and co-workers; strong organizational and time management skills; ability to communicate professionally with the court; ability to sort through large files and analyze information therein; ability to investigate using social media; and ability to use the computer to prepare spreadsheets, graphs, tables, digital images and other related files for exhibits. Personal and professional experience with assisting families through legal conflict and the ability to be authentic in providing compassion and care for our clients throughout service delivery is highly desirable.
