Junior Lab Technician

Overview
Troy corporation is looking for a Junior Lab Technician to join its team. The lab tech will Perform duties in analytical lab (physical, wet chemistry tests) and Micro Lab (media preparation and other light testing duties as appropriate) and sample login for R&D.
Responsibilities

• Perform analytical physical/wet chemistry tests such as pH, Viscosity, FTIR and titration.
• Help other chemists with sample/solution preparation or other tasks as appropriate.
• Assist general lab tasks as needed and appropriate.
• Prepare media for microbiological testing including buffers, neutralizers, agars, broths etc. to meet the daily needs for testing requirements.
• Work with CoE Microbiology team to review media requests, assure needs are clear and schedule preparation to have all media ready as needed.
• Assists the Senior Technician with inventory, equipment maintenance, maintenance of supplies, and other laboratory tasks as needed.
• Assist in general microbiology testing as time permits.
• Log and distribute samples from suppliers, customers, and other external parties to the laboratories, notifying stakeholders as required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree (or above) in Science (chemistry or microbiology preferred)
• Basic knowledge in analytical or microbiology testing techniques
• Adapt quickly to changes of working environment and management; value teamwork with a positive attitude of cooperation
• Organized, proactive self-starter able to handle and prioritize multiple tasks; detail oriented, adhere to timeline commitments
• Good communication skills in speaking and writing
