04/17/2023The Junior High school Guidance Counselor will provide direct counseling to students ia group setting as well as on an individual basis.the counselor will advise students on various course options and courses that must be completed for grade level promotion and high school graduation ; manage students records and students transcripts in the Arkansas Public School Computer network program which includes eSchool, Cognos and TAC.
Duties and Responsibilities;

• The Junior High school counselor will schedule all preregistration and registration activities, student orientation, and screen and maintaain student permanent records
• Must be proficient iwith the list of procedures for properly maintaing students records in APSCN
• Monitior the progress of students in meeting four-year Student Success Plan
• Advise students on course selection and course completion and course deficits in meeting the required four-year plan
• provide direct counseling to students whose school attendance is sparodic
• Provide intervention students who are contemplating dropping out of school
• The Junior High counselor will disseminate information on student career options.
• Organize student records and report cards and progress reports for parent Teacher Conferences

Other job Responsibilities and Duties;

• Abide by state statues, code of ethics, school board policies and regulations
• Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators and immediate supervisor
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, school equipment, materials and facilities
• maitntain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulations
• Remain current on instructional best practices in education and the use of instructional technology to support instructiona nd school goals
