Junior Graphic Designer

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Jr. Graphic Designer develops and produces visual design solutions in digital and print media for a wide range of internal and external projects while adhering to style guides and visual language that is consistent with Goodwill Central Texas design standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conceptualize, design, and produce deliverables such as flyers, print and digital advertisements, social media posts, and store signage that reflect the Goodwill Central Texas brand.
• Strengthen brand recognition through consistent design ensuring that all creative adheres to the brand and style guidelines.
• Scale creative across different mediums to create cohesive experiences.
• Design and produce creative assets including graphs, charts, icons, logos, line art, and animated web graphics.
• Generates creative concepts in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Presents visual designs to team and management while clearly articulating design rationale.
• Reports to the Creative Manager and collaborates with the creative team to identify stakeholder needs.
• Photo editing: sizing, retouching, manipulation, adjusting.
• Assists with getting quotes from different vendors.
• Generates pre-press files for vendors.
• Maintains a digital collection of creative assets on departmental drive and adheres to file naming convention.
• Provides overall support for the goals of the team including special events and projects assistance.
• Attends to meetings and completes required training.
• Demonstrates ethics and complies with Goodwill’s Corporate Compliance Program.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field preferred
• 1-2 years of experience
• Strong, diverse portfolio (print and digital) required
• Capable of implementing design-thinking strategies to reach diverse stakeholders
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Creative Suite software (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, XD). After Effects or Premiere are a plus
• Knowledge of data visualization techniques is a plus
• Knowledge of printing and/or reproduction processes and techniques
• Strong understanding of typography and layout
• Web design, interactive content design experience preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Strong time management skills, thrives in a fast-paced team environment
