Job description

Summary of Responsibilities

The Junior Graphic Designer will support the creative process for all Avenue5 managed properties by creating and editing various collateral items for print and digital, such as presentation design, simplifying complex data for graphics, preparing graphics for digital and print collateral including flyers, social content, email newsletters, presentation decks, brand and identity concepts, digital documents in book and brochure format, ads, and more. This role will assist our property marketing team with a variety of marketing collateral for internal and external needs.

 

Primary Responsibilities and Objectives

·         Produces a full range of compelling digital collateral using Adobe Cloud/Creative Suite InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop for layout, design, image and photo enhancement and manipulation, and production of graphics

·         Designs for property marketing creative requests

·         Manages multiple projects on a day-to-day basis, prioritizes projects accordingly, and communicates with internal stakeholders regarding the status of projects and their progress

·         Designs, concepts, formats, and updates creative items for digital and print marketing collateral, including flyers, social imagery, newsletters, brochures, pitch decks, proposal documents, and presentation graphics

·         Observes Avenue5 brand guidelines and property brand guidelines when producing projects, and follows established hierarchies when integrating other entities’ brands into projects

·         Collaborates with internal subject matter experts to develop designs that visually communicate key messages, understand the objective being communicated, and provide visual solutions that enhance and clarify audience understanding

·         Redraws and colors existing logos as needed

·         Save final files for execution and organize files in proper folders

·         Requests and reviews project feedback from multiple parties, makes project changes accordingly, and solves any creative challenges arising from conflicting feedback requests

·         Conducts quality assurance to ensure that project deliverables meet Avenue5 standards for quality, effectiveness, and timeliness

·         Performs other duties as assigned

 

Education and Experience

·         Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, marketing, business, English, communications, or a related field is required

·         Two years of experience in producing exemplary artwork for business proposals and/or presentations in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, with a portfolio that demonstrates this experience

·         Two to three years of video and/or motion graphics experience is preferred

·         Two to three years of advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Adobe Creative Suite, and Google Drive

 

Skills and Requirements

·         Proven skills in graphic design, branding, typography, layout, composition, color theory, and information design

·         Provides an excellent customer experience

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·         Ability to take an idea or description of an approach and create compelling graphics accordingly for internal and external customers

·         Demonstrated ability to think creatively and express ideas orally and in writing

·         Ability to create and reformat a sophisticated presentation across all platforms, including programs such as PowerPoint and Word that were not created primarily as design vehicles

·         Demonstrated ability to utilize PowerPoint to design, craft layouts, generate themes and templates, utilize master slides, and create custom color palettes for existing deck templates as well as new decks

·         Professional client service manner and ability to interact with all levels of management

·         Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and synthesize direction from multiple individuals

·         Ability to work independently, meet aggressive deadlines and production schedules, and juggle multiple simultaneous projects

·         Comfortable working with highly distributed teams

·         Demonstrated ability to multitask, organize, and prioritize work and continue to monitor and make changes to work as the project needs dictate

·         Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently

·         Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality

·         Expert at solution-based thinking

·         Required to complete and successfully pass the Avenue5 Fair Housing and Preventing Discrimination and Harassment training and other courses, if assigned

 

Scheduling

·         Required to maintain a regular schedule which may require working outside business hours, weekends, and non-traditional holidays

·         Ability to travel (5%)

 

Environment

·         Exposure to environment typically found in an office building.

·         Frequent exposure to airports, airplanes, rental cars, hotels, etc.

·         Ability to compare, copy, coordinate, synthesize, negotiate, communicate, and instruct

·         Ability to tolerate stressful situations

·         Ability to work under minimal to moderate supervision
