Junior Editor/Videographer

 

Job Summary

Weber Shandwick Detroit is seeking a full-time Junior Editor / Videographer to join our growing creative team. As part of the team, you'll have the opportunity to bring big ideas to life, create high-profile video content for our clients, and touch all facets of the production process in a fun, collaborative environment. We are looking for a candidate with a strong understanding of the fundamentals of video production, editing and visual storytelling to create high-quality branded content. Our ideal candidate will be a self-starter, able to work independently and take the creative initiative to make the mundane magical. We're looking for problem-solving candidates who can think on their feet, have a good handle on production workflow, understand the digital cultural space , and can passionately nerd out on editing techniques, music, and camera gear. Experience working with Premiere and Photoshop is a requisite, and After Effects knowledge preferred.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Support Creative Directors, Art Directors, Copywriters, and Video Producers to execute or translate creative concepts into compelling digital content ( short form / long form videos, GIFs, animations).
  • Film and edit high-quality video content with a focus on delivering for social media audiences.
  • Manage, operate and maintain video production equipment including cameras, lenses, lighting, audio equipment and necessary support gear.
  • Ensure all creative adheres to existing brand guidelines and social media best practices.
  • Assist Video Producers during the pre-production process: vendor coordination, shoot prep, brainstorms, etc.
  • Usher projects through the post-production workflow - creative editing, motion graphics, audio mixing and color correction - to ensure high-quality and timely deliverables.
  • Work closely with Producers and Production Manager on content management, file organization, and equipment coordination.

Qualifications

  • College degree or 1-2+ years working in an agency or related digital video production/post production environment.
  • Please provide portfolio or examples of work for review.
  • Top notch creative editorial skills - the ability to craft a good story or find a unique one in the editing room.
  • Demonstrated creative eye for composition, camera operation and visual storytelling.
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite software
  • Premiere experience a must. After Effects and motion graphics experience a definite plus.
  • Knowledge in operating standard digital video cameras and equipment, including lighting and audio.
  • Good understanding of social platforms and content formats.
