The firm provides clients with innovative, dynamic and functional design solutions that represent livable luxury. Studio 7 works closely with clients to establish creative direction and project goals. The full service design model utilized allows the firm to be effective in the architecture, construction, renovation, restoration and interior decoration phases of all projects. All team members strive to earn the respect of each client by educating them throughout the design and construction process. The firm’s portfolio and client roster include commercial and residential sites in Atlanta, Los Angeles, San Francisco Bay Area, New York Area, Alabama and Miami.

The position of Junior Designer contributes to the success of Studio 7 Design Group (S7) by helping our Senior Design Team create high quality, functional, and aesthetically pleasing design deliverables to clients. The Junior Designer must be professional, organized and self-motivated with 1-2 years minimum of residential and/or commercial design experience. Candidate must be good at multi-tasking, organized, energetic, eager to learn, cheerful, and also be comfortable in a fast-paced environment. The Junior Designer will contribute to the success of the firm by assisting with all aspects of design development, sourcing, meeting preparation, technical drawings, maintaining organized binders and sample library. Candidate must be adaptable and able to successfully function with multiple projects and competing priorities.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support 1 – 3 Senior Designers as they work with clients to determine initial goals and requirements for the space(s) to be designed
  • General research and all sourcing; research, source, and specify materials, furnishings, lighting, hardware, fabric, wallpaper, and finishes
  • Prepare for client presentations by creating mood boards, floorplans, drawings and elevations.
  • Follow up with vendors on lead times and quotes
  • Organize and manage samples library; pull samples
  • Research new products and materials
  • Type up and organize meeting notes, project status, deliverables, etc. in Basecamp
  • Maintain organized client files
  • Read architectural plans and produce scaled sketches, floor plans, furniture layouts, millwork elevations, and construction costs (Revit, CAD)
  • Collaborates with Project Coordinator and Procurement Specialist to support Design Team with day to day tasks to successfully resolve clients’ needs and concerns
  • Maintains current knowledge of trends and materials, techniques, and other developments in interior design
  • Mentors, supports and coaches junior design staff & interns

Required Qualifications:

  • 2 – 3 years of work experience in interior design or related industry
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to apply a sense of style to create aesthetically pleasing interiors
  • Strong visual design skills including proportion and aesthetics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to use computer-aided design (Revit, CAD) software highly preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Photoshop, 3D computer modeling skills (Sketch Up, 3D Max, Rhino, etc)
  • Ability to multi-task; meet deadlines and is eager to learn and grow with firm
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or related field required
  • Coursework in computer-aided design; Revit proficiency highly preferred, CAD functional
  • At least one year of related experience required

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
  • Must be able to distinguish between colors

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
