Junior Credit Underwriter

We are looking to hire a Junior Credit Underwriter for our fast-growing team!

Please note this role is on-site at our Waynesboro, VA location.

DuPont Community Credit Union (DCCU) is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Junior Credit Underwriter to join a high performing, rapidly growing Consumer Credit department. What You’ll have the Opportunity to do:

• Provide loan decisions and/or credit recommendations based on a review of all underwriting criteria.
• Review and verify loan documents.
• Approve loans and prepare denial notices in accordance with the Equal Credit Opportunity Act regulations.
• Maintain a working knowledge of loan origination systems and core systems.
• Understand and apply mortgage regulations appropriately.
• Approve or Deny interest payment request, loan payment deferral requests, and due date changes according to current loan policy and procedure.
• Look for additional opportunities to cross service credit union loan products and services to enhance the financial well-being of our members.
• Attend and participate in necessary compliance training.

What You’ll Bring to the Table

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in accounting or consumer lending is preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Courteous and friendly member relation skills.
• Problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrated ability to make loan decisions.
