BDA Systems Company is looking for a self-motivated Junior AutoCAD Drafter. A Junior AutoCAD Drafter plays a crucial role in the design and development process by utilizing AutoCAD software to create accurate and detailed technical drawings and plans. Working under the guidance and supervision of senior drafters or engineers, the Junior AutoCAD Drafter assists in creating shop drawings that will be used for installation.
This entry-level position is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in pursuing a career in drafting and design.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Drafting and Design: Create detailed 2D drawings using AutoCAD.
2. Documentation: Prepare and update drawings, submittals, and any other AHJ required documentation as required.
3. Collaboration: Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other team members to understand project requirements and incorporate necessary changes into drawings. Work closely with our permitting team to get projects completed and permitting in a timely manner.
4. Standards Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations in the creation of drawings and designs.
6. Quality Control: Conduct quality checks on drafted drawings to verify accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project requirements.
7. File Management: Organize and maintain electronic and physical files, including drawings, plans, and related documentation, in a well-structured and easily accessible manner.
8. Communication: Communicate effectively with team members to clarify requirements, provide progress updates, and seek guidance when needed.
9. Learning and Development: Stay updated with the latest AutoCAD features, Codes, techniques, and industry trends to enhance drafting skills and improve efficiency.
Requirements:
1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
2. AutoCAD Proficiency: Strong knowledge and experience in using AutoCAD software for creating 2D – 1 year working CAD experience is required.
3. Technical Skills: Familiarity with drafting principles, standards, and practices. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
4. Team Player: Ability to work well in a team environment, take direction, and contribute to project goals.
5. Time Management: Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Must be a self-starter with the ability to work in a hybrid environment.
6. Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, software, and industry standards as required.
