Description

The Junior Art Director, a content creator, will focus on social, photography, advertising, and design.  This role requires outside of the box thinking and strong digital design skills.  Strong conceptual ability and the ability to articulate creative decision and produce both print and digital work that engages the audience.  Must possess a combination of creativity and organizational skills and be able to work quickly and efficiently, working on tight deadlines and ensuring deliverables are aligned with expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and launch fully integrated campaigns utilizing product and lifestyle photography
  • Direct photoshoots for both social media and print purposes – from coordinating with the photographer to arranging the set, composing the images, providing direction to the photographer and communicating with the re-touchers
  • Create social media content including static and animated posts for Instagram & Facebook, Instagram Stories, carousel ads, etc.
  • Light retouching and video editing for social content when needed
  • Manage multiple assignments simultaneously within established timeframes and maintain an awareness of status and project deliverables
  • Must take creative initiative and strive to push design concepts to new levels to remain relevant with evolving industry trends
  • Work collaboratively and constructively on each project with others on the team including Marketing, Art Directors, external vendors and business partners
  • Keep abreast of current interactive, mobile, design and communications platforms
  • Collaborate with Brand and Product Teams to create sales presentations and sell-in catalogs

Requirements

  • BFA with Graphic Design concentration or equivalent
  • 3-5 years previous experience in a creative department, agency, or design studio with print and production skills as well as strong digital media and animation knowledge
  • Core design skills using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Knowledge of After Effects/Premiere and PowerPoint a bonus
  • Passion for content creation – design, GIF, video, photography, stop motion, and knowledge of all social media platforms
  • Detail oriented, but able to focus on the bigger picture
  • Efficient time management and organizational skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills – able to present concepts and support rationale behind given design solution
  • A self-starter but can also work well in a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to quickly pick up a new skill
  • A desire to innovate, add value, and help across the organization
  • Positive, kind person who plays well with others
