Position: Junior Architectural Designer ( Work Location: San Francisco)

Geddes Ulinskas Architects is a high-end custom residential design studio and our projects are located throughout the San Francisco, Bay Area, Los Angeles and Hawaii. We are looking for passionate, talented and energetic Architectural Designers who are with to-do attitude to join in our family and grow with us.
Qualifications:
· A professional undergraduate or master’s degree in Architecture in the U.S.A. or worldwide. At least 4 YEAR study in architecture in college.
· Have to be authorized to work in the U.S.A.. NO H1-B Visa sponsor.
· Excellent can-do attitude, organizational and communication skills with the team and clients, as well as an ability to work at a variety of project scales from planning to detail design.
· Technical expertise in AutoCAD, 3D, proficient hand drawing and writing skills.
· Fluency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop and In-Design are required, as well as work experience applying these skills in an office setting.
· With experience managing and coordinating the work of a consultant team; an interest in a wide range of building types and settings; and an understanding of all phases of a project, from conceptual design through construction.
· Be ready to learn all areas of construction and design as well as will to support the needs what the office requests.
· Must have "Will Do" attitude.
· Will to work after the regular work hours or weekend.
Work Experience Requirements:
· At least 1 to 3 year working experience in a residential or commercial architectural office as a member of the production team.
· Have knowledge of building construction systems, means and methods, materials, and industry associated standards are expected.
· Understanding of all phases of architectural document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.
· Understanding of how to develop floor plans, wall sections, and details.
· Full understanding of exterior detailing including fenestration, cladding, foundations and roofing.
· Knowledge of building codes and requirements.
· To check own work for accuracy and completeness and manage time.
· To participate and collaborate in a project team setting through all phases of architectural document production.
· To engage in creative and critical thought. To hand sketch and communicate concepts and ideas to others effectively.
· To interpret sketches, drawings, building program and other similar material. To communicate abstract ideas (verbal/written).
Responsibilities:
· Work independently in the development of a design through sketches, physical models, electronic models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats.
· Work and support project architects and teams in development of design documentation.
· Participates in design critiques and pin-ups.
· Interprets and applies building codes and requirements of other regulatory agencies.
· Prepares and revises documentation in various architectural phases including site plans, floor plans, building elevations, building sections, and details.
· Coordinates building systems (structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.) to ensure compatibility with the design intent.
· Reviews shop drawings and submittals, responds to RFIs, prepares site observation reports, and other contract administration tasks.
· Coordination of specs with construction documents.
· Assists in the evaluation and selection of building systems and materials.
· Attends project coordination and meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants.
· Assists in site analysis.
· Complete the work on the required timelines.
Position Description:
· Be managing, designing, and building residential projects at multiple scales.
· Work as part of an interdisciplinary team, providing strategic planning and creative design for clients requiring the firm’s unique perspective for their challenging projects.
· Tasks will include support and assistance in preparing and completing construction drawings, design studies and sketches.
· Have strong and versatile design skills as well as sketching and/or model building skills are a plus.
· Be responsible for managing the production of designs, presentations, and working drawings while coordinating necessary personnel and firm resources and maintaining relationships with clients, organizing a workflow and leading a team.
