Job description

Position Overview:

The Junior Account Manager is primarily responsible for overseeing, servicing, and growing the existing and new volume accounts assigned to him/her. The Junior Account Manager will plan and execute all account management activities to include (but not limited to) order processing, special projects, sales analysis and reporting, strategy, promotions, product launches, daily account management and communication.

  • Relationship Management:
    • Direct Relationship Calls with all accounts.
  • Drives the strategy and infuses the business vision into professional relationships in designated market location.
  • Maintains a constant influence with every customer, ensuring role is intensely focused on forging new relationships with local businesses, managing accounts, and building loyalty by providing quality experiences for business partners.
    • Executes at least one relationship Building Activity per account.
  • Plans, sources, and executes training activities with accounts.
  • Responds to key clients’ needs as well as claims or complaints
  • Sales Plan Achievement and Reporting (Revenue & Profitability):
    • Achieve or exceed the assigned sales goals and profitability target.
    • Prepares all Presentation materials and Lead Market Meetings for assigned accounts.
    • Reports on Sales & Marketing Plan by Account:
      •   Assortment updates
      •   Inventory Strategy
      •   New Product Launches
      •   Promotions
      •   Events & Animations
    • Reports on Sales Plan revenue Targets by Account.
    • Reports on Profitability Targets by Account to reflect key indicators including marketing spend, returns per account, Discounts Applied/Margin Retained, Sampling/GWP support.
    • Responsible for driving assigned accounts in North America, building relationships, and identifying and prospecting new account opportunities as requested.
  • Reporting, Strategy and Execution:
    • Uploads sell-out reports by account.
    • Develops and maintains account strategy/retailer marketing calendar.
    • Calls with Head of BD to discuss Sales against Plan & Strategy.
    • Maintains account trackers (marketing, media, promotional, etc.).
    • Forecasts and plans new product launches strategies per account.
  • Defines and evaluates SKU distribution and retail strategy within assigned accounts to support commercial development in North America.
    • Plans, executes, and supports national events and trade shows.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Proven ability to drive incremental revenue, create new relationships and manage existing ones as well as build loyalty within a market region.
  • Must be able to work independently, be self-motivated, and results and detail oriented.

  • Team player with a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated success in sales.
  • Eagerness to learn.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, sales or business administration preferred but not required; High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.

Minimum two years of sales or account management.

  • Experience working in retail, luxury beauty or ecommerce as an Account Manager a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Suite applications.
  • Strong communications skills with the ability to clearly communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work a flexible and hybrid schedule (work hours will be based on business needs).
  • Ability to travel on occasion (up to 20% of the time).

Individual must possess the knowledge and following skills and abilities or be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities:

  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, move from one area of the building to another on a regular basis, sit and use a computer for a long period of time.
  • Manual and physical dexterity are needed to operate a computer keyboard and handle paper documents.
  • Sufficient vision acuity to read information appearing on computer display screen, in hand-written forms, and printed on paper.
  • Adequate hearing and verbal abilities to communicate effectively in person and by telephone.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.


Position Progression:  The Junior Account Manager can be promoted to Business Development Manager.
