Job description

About Havoc Shield

We are a small but mighty early-stage technology startup with a small team of passionate technologists & entrepreneurs making a professional cybersecurity program accessible to small and vulnerable companies. It’s kind of like TurboTax for small business cybersecurity in that we take the ocean of complexity that is risk mitigation, vendor management, policies, recovery, and orchestration and we bake it into a step-by-step action plan that non-experts can execute on.

We have recently started partnering with cybersecurity insurance providers to help small businesses understand and meet policy requirements. We’ve had great success with this channel and are now focusing on scaling it quickly and sustainably.

At Havoc Shield, we know that the workplace dynamic is changing and we have changed with it. Your day will not be broken up into countless meetings, distractions that could wait and unnecessary fire-drills. We believe in small teams. Small teams are fast and nimble. Small teams mean less bureaucracy and less management and more getting things done. We have a distributed (you can work from anywhere), team and our employees work both collaboratively and independently.

About the Role

Havoc Shield is looking for an entrepreneurial Junior Account Executive solely focused on activating and scaling our insurance channel through constant experimentation. This is not your typical AE role you may be used to seeing at other SaaS companies. You won’t be handed a defined and proven playbook on Day 1. Rather, you, in partnership with the VP of Growth, will be developing the playbook for nurturing and converting inbound leads, and iterating until we’ve found scalable success. You will be responsible for keeping leads moving through the funnel – from initial entry, to consultation, on through to conversion. You’ll do this through tailored outreach (via calls & emails), scheduling consultations, informed follow-up, and thoughtful nurture (for the folks who don’t convert right away). While you won’t be solely responsible for closing deals, you will have the opportunity to do so, and will be compensated as such in those cases.

About You

  • You have 2+ years of experience as a quota-carrying SDR, full-cycle sales-person/AE, or customer success professional.
  • Experience working in a technical, B2B SaaS revenue-based role and most of all, a strong desire to drive impact by helping prospective customers succeed in protecting their business and obtain cyber liability insurance.
  • You’re experimental by nature and have the ability to execute on go-to-market tests and new sales strategies in order to help the company close new business.
  • You’re operationally minded and love building, documenting and following a scalable process.
  • You’re comfortable navigating ambiguity and have a knack for bringing clarity to aspects of your work that aren’t totally defined.
  • You proactively self-manage with a high degree of agency to manage your pipeline and hit quotas.
  • You’re an effective communicator and are comfortable presenting to an executive audience.
  • You’re passionate about finding new ways to use technology to improve processes and reduce manual effort. You also tend to have a lot of opinions about your revenue tech stack. Experience working with Hubspot is a plus, but not necessary.
  • While a working knowledge of cybersecurity principles is certainly helpful for this role, it is not required. However, you must be comfortable learning about and getting into the technicalities of the problems our customers face and the solutions we offer.

Things you’ll do:

  • You will be responsible for keeping our inbound insurance channel leads moving through the funnel through a combination of tailored email and phone outreach, and follow-up after initial contact.
  • You’ll work with the VP of Growth to design and execute go-to-market and sales experiments to improve lead throughput, velocity, and conversion.
  • You’ll schedule consultations with cybersecurity insurance applicants to help determine whether their security control requirements are being met, and creatively showcase Havoc Shield’s cybersecurity solutions as the best path for SMBs to quickly meet requirements and protect their business.
  • You’ll own the post-consultation follow-up to ensure insurance clients complete our cybersecurity insurance risk assessment and application process, and are primed to convert.
  • Post-sale, you will have a book of your own customers that you will work to expand and upgrade within their first year with Havoc Shield.
  • You’ll maintain feedback loops into the rest of the organization, sharing insights from your interactions with prospects, customers and partners to help inform go-to-market experiments and product enhancements.
  • You’ll leverage product and customer data (product insights, industry-specific use cases, and existing adoption patterns) to iterate on how we structure offers and identify how to better connect with and convert customers.
